AlertTraveler® is a system provided by your institution to help keep you safe while you're traveling by alerting you about incidents and events that affect you. The AlertTraveler® app provides you with intelligence for countries and cities around the world, and is a handy reference right on your phone. Let's take a look at some great features you can use now, before you travel.
After an initial login from the website or an email, you'll see the overview map. This includes safety ratings and incidents in your current location based on GPS, offering a visual overview of your current safety situation and potential destinations to support informed planning.
Each city is marked with a Composite Safety Score. You can search for locations using the magnifying glass, giving you quick insight into a world of travel planning. Tap on the name to open the location intelligence page in a detailed view.
At the top is the city scorecard, including the breakdown of scores that contribute to the composite score calculation. Keep scrolling to also see the bigger picture of country intelligence.
You can even give your own feedback on how safe you feel in a given location to support the intelligence provider's ongoing adjustment of safety scores. Back at the top, hit Subscribe to receive Alerts for this location, so you always have the most up-to-date information to support your travel plans.
Over here in the Hamburger menu, you can access the overview of your Subscriptions. Your current location and any locations in the itinerary you submitted to your institution are automatically prefilled for you, together with the subscription we just added. Tap the gear icon to set the categories and severity levels of Alerts you want to hear about, and whether the heads up should come by email or push notification.
Look, I've already gotten a notification that trains are experiencing delays. I'll make sure to leave extra early for the airport later.
Plan your travel with confidence. AlertTraveler® is your tool for making decisions and getting help if you need it around the world.
