For an index of Engage articles, return to the Engage Table of Contents. This article discusses the following topics related to Campaign Metrics:
Overview Tab
To access campaign metrics, visit Engage > Campaign Management and click on the metrics icon that is located second to the right side from the campaign (marked in green below).
This opens the metrics for this specific campaign on the Overview tab.
The metrics on the overview tab include:
-
Stages - This visualization section shows how many contacts were targeted, how many opened the email (engaged), and how many reached action levels for applications or requests. In each stage of the visualization, an admin can click on the block to view the list of contacts in that stage, as well as select contacts and add them to a contact list.
Three visualizations are available to represent this data:
-
Funnel - shows the data as a stepped inverse pyramid, with the size of the blocks representing the total number of contacts included.
-
Triangle - shows the data as an inverted triangle, with the volume of each section representing the total number of contacts included.
- Path - shows the steps of the path, with the size of each circle representing the total number of contacts included.
-
Funnel - shows the data as a stepped inverse pyramid, with the size of the blocks representing the total number of contacts included.
-
Rates - These industry-standard metrics include:
-
- Open Rate - The percentage of emails received that have been opened. This includes all emails sent by a journey, so the number of emails sent may be higher than the number of recipients. This is useful for determining how many recipients are interested in your email based on the source and subject line.
- Click Rate - The ratio and percentage of emails received where the recipient has clicked on at least one link in the email. This is useful for determining how many of your total recipients are connecting to the information from your website.
- Click to Open Rate - Of the emails that were opened, how many have had a recipient click on at least one link. This is useful for seeing whether the content of your email(s) has been effective at encouraging users to connect with information from your website.

Emails Over Time - This diagram shows the emails sent, emails opened, and emails with clicks over time. For a blast campaign, this will show the number of emails sent on a single day. For a journey campaign, this will show any emails sent based on time delay or in response to recipient actions.
Journey Tab
If the campaign was a journey, then a read-only view of the journey will show. (See Engage: Campaign Management for information on updating a campaign.)
For each step of the journey, a label is included showing how many contacts have reached this stage of the journey. If a step of the journey is set to happen in the future (such as if there is a delay set to a number of days where that number has not yet been reached), then the step will show as 0 until the triggering day is reached.
Contacts Tab
This tab includes a list of all contacts who have received at least one message from this campaign, including those who have since been removed from related contact lists.
For each contact, columns are available for the name, email address, the current step they have progressed to on a journey campaign, when the most recent message was sent, whether they are active, whether they have reached the campaign goal, a document icon that links to any applications that have been opened by this contact, and an eye icon for seeing more information about this recipient. To show/hide columns on this page, use the "display table columns" icon on the far right above the table.
Clicking on the eye icon opens a page with more information about what campaigns this contact has received messages from, including how many messages they have opened and unique clicks they have made. The links tab shows which URLs they have clicked.
Links Tab
The links from this campaign that have been clicked on will appear in the section titled Links.
Link Metrics and Add to List
Clicking on the eye icon on the far right opens a page with more information about this specific link. This includes the name of who has clicked on the links.
Checking at least one box next to a name brings up a button "Add to List". Clicking the button offers an interface to select an existing contact list to add all selected contacts.
Use this feature to add contacts who have looked at a page into a related contact list. For example, if a contact has clicked on a link to learn more about a summer program located in Costa Rica, they could be added to contact lists for more information on other programs in Costa Rica, summer programs, or programs in Spanish.
