You can always check which app cycles are using rules by navigating to Admin Console>App cycle Management and then searching for the app cycle:

If you want to look at an application and immediately know if they are using deployment rules, an easy trick is to click the 3 dots in the upper righthand corner. If you have the option to "refresh rules" that application belongs to an app cycle using rules. If that option does not appear, the application is using process maps:
