This article discusses how to convert your students from being integrated to non-integrated.
Note: Before converting your students, make sure that their email address is updated. Their email address will replace their User ID, and after you have converted the student(s), they will use the email address to log into their student portal.
You can update their email address by going to the Student List, selecting the student you are converting, then going to the “Profile” tab and scrolling down to “Contact Information.” Type the new email address directly into the “Email” field, then scroll down and click submit.
Navigating to the Integrated User Tool
To get started, navigate to the hamburger menu bar on the top right corner of the screen, under “Actions”, navigate to “Integrated User Tool”.
Searching and Filtering
Once you have navigated to the “Integrated User Tool”, you will see there are a few ways to search for the students who you need to convert to non- integrated.
- Campus List: Select the campus of the students who you will be converting.
- User Type: Select “Integrated” to filter out the students who have already been converted to non-integrated.
-
Program End Date: In this field, you can search for students by their I-20 program end date. You can select:
- On date - This is a single date that the I-20 will end
- Since date -This is a date you select in the past that will pull all students from that date and forward.
- Date Range - Here you have the ability to select a date range, searching for students whose program end date falls in between a selected period of time.
- Search by Name: If you are searching for a specific student, you can type their first or last name directly into this field.
You can also display the data that you need by selecting the cog icon on the right side of the screen. Once you have clicked the cog, a dropdown appears allowing you to display any of the following columns:
- First Name
- Last Name
- DOB
- SEVIS ID
- Status
- Visa Type
- Program end date
- OPT End Date
- OPT Start Date
- OPT Status
Once you have selected the columns, you can sort them by clicking on any of the column/field names. For example, if you hover over “Last Name,” you will see an arrow appear. If you click the arrow, it will sort alphabetically by the “Last Name.”
Using Analytics
You can also filter your students using reports you have created in Analytics using the Select Saved Report option. For information on creating a report, see ISSS Student: Actions > Analytics.
Please note: To take action on this page after applying a report filter, the user ID, email, and campus site must be included as fields in the report. If these fields are missing, the action checkboxes next to the student's name will not appear.
Lastly, at the bottom right corner of the screen, you can choose the number of students you want to display on each page.
Converting Students to Non-Integrated
Once you have identified the students that you need to convert, you can then use the very top checkbox to select all the students who are displayed on the page to convert, or you can select the checkbox next to the student’s name if you want to convert only a selected few or one student.
Next, click on the “Actions” button and select “Convert to Nonintegrated”. A pop up window will appear and will ask you “Would you also like to mark the user internal/external?”, you can select any of the options and none will affect the non-integration conversion process.
Next, you will need to email the student to let them know they will now use their email to login to the student portal. You can use a template or create an individual email.
