Overview
This Knowledgebase Article reviews the process of creating draft profiles for F-1 students using the Newly Admitted Students Report located in the Actions tab of ISSS Student.
The New Admitted Students page will pull students and information from your SIS on a nightly basis and will populate those newly admitted students into a list. From here, you can create draft profiles for individual students or en masse.
Reviewing Newly Admitted Students
Begin by navigating to the SEVIS Admin > ISSS Student and then Menu> Actions > Newly Admitted Students. In the Visa Type option located on the left side above the list, select F-1 to pull in all newly admitted F-1 students.
From the list of students, you can select individual students or multiple students to create the draft profile by clicking on the checkboxes in the left-most column. Once you have selected the students, click on the Create Draft Profile button located in the upper left-hand corner of the page.
Creating the Draft Profile
After clicking on the Create Draft Profile button, a new modal window will appear. At the top of the Add User Information window, you will have two options: do you want to overwrite templates values with SIS data and the option to send an email to the student inviting them to the Student Portal. If Yes is selected for the send notification, two additional options will appear: Email Template and Single Sign On. You can select any previously created email template to use to notify the student have the draft profile has been created and choosing whether this student is Integrated or Non-Integrated for Single Sign On.
Next, you will also be able to view and update the Profile Information, Program Information, Education Information, Financial Expenses, and Financial Funding sections.
The other fields can be filled in as needed. Fields specific to the student will have the information pulled in from the SIS file after the draft profile has been created. Note: a template previously created by the ISSS Admin can be used to populate information from a pre-configured template. For more information on creating templates view the following article: ISSS Student: Templates
Once completed, click Submit to save the draft profile.
