Conditional questions can be configured for both the approver form and in questionnaires within a Request. Conditional questions are used when an additional question is asked based upon the answer of the first question. For example,
- Are you currently located in the United States?
- Yes
- What visa type are you currently supported on?
- No
- Yes
Within the Request Configuration, conditional questions can be configured for both questionnaires and the questionnaires within an approver form. Creating conditional questions for these two request components are identical in their process.
Creating a Conditional Question in a Questionnaire
To create a conditional question within a questionnaire, first begin by opening the existing request or create a new request that this questionnaire will belong to. Once request components are ready to be built, click on the plus icon located in the bottom right corner of the page. A menu will appear with the various request components, select the questionnaire option.
A new modal window will appear and before building out the questions, start by giving your questionnaire a title. Once titled, click on the plus icon located in the right-hand side of the page to add a question item.
After adding a question item, you will select the following options to set up a conditional question:
- Type: Selection
- Sub-Type: Single/Multiple
- Source: Create custom options
Two answer options will appear within the Create Custom Options box, however, by clicking on the plus icon located in the upper right corner of the box, you can add more answer options. To the right of the answer option is a toggle button to allow a conditional question to be added to that answer. Multiple answer options can have conditional questions attached to them. A conditional question item can have further conditional questions attached to them as well.
Once the questions have been configured, click the submit button in the lower right-hand corner of the modal window to save the questionnaire.
