Reviewing and Updating Discrepancies
To review the data comparisons between Terra Dotta ISSS and SEVIS, click on the student's name:
Clicking the student's name presents the TDS/SEVIS Data Comparison modal:
This modal displays all discrepancies between Terra Dotta ISSS and SEVIS as well as all identical data.
To update in ISSS Terra Dotta with the scraped SEVIS data, select the checkbox of the information to be updated and click the Update ISSS button.
Multiple Records Conflict Discrepancies
The Exchange Visitors With Student Employment: Current and Future list offers the Multiple Records Conflict data discrepancy type:
To address this discrepancy, select the checkbox next to the student's entry and then select Update ISSS:
Selecting Update ISSS presents the admin with the Multiple Records Conflict modal. This modal displays the record available in SEVIS, as well as the current employment record(s) in the student's ISSS Student profile. From this modal, the admin can opt to create a new record for the existing SEVIS record, or select the existing Terra Dotta Student record that should be linked to the SEVIS record:
In this example, the admin has opted to link the Terra Dotta ISSS record with the SEVIS Record, rather than creating a new record in Terra Dotta ISSS. Though the two records appear identical, taking this action updates the Terra Dotta ISSS record with the SEVIS-assigned employer ID. After taking this action, the two records will not conflict in the future.
Note: The SEVIS-assigned employer ID is in the background; the ID is not displayed in Terra Dotta ISSS.
Upon selecting Update, a message confirms the action was successful:
If any front-facing information was changed in this update, the student's practical training tab will display the updated student employment information.
Discrepancies for OPT Reporting
To review the employer information discrepancies of students on OPT, go to the RTI Downloads option and select Students With Requested, Pending, or Approved Optional Practical Training (OPT). This will populate a list of students on OPT with SEVIS employer information that does not match the information in Terra Dotta, you can review the employer and OPT status discrepancies here.
To review the personal information discrepancies for students on OPT, go to RTI-Connect option, sign into SEVIS, select the campus you wish to review, then select Student List, there you will see Active Students list (students on OPT are still active and will appear on this list). Once you have the Active Student list up, you can sort by Program End Date.
Once you have sorted by program end date, you can download the list (as shown in the download section above) and view your Active Student discrepancies with the oldest program end date first.
