Ability to Scrub Application Cycles
With the TDS 19.0 release, we made almost all Maintenance permissions in the software self-service, taking TD Support out of the equation. With TDS 19.1, we’re also giving you the ability to scrub unneeded application cycles without having to open up a support ticket.
Users with the new “Maintenance: Scrub App Cycle” permission will be able to access Maintenance > Scrub App Cycle.
From this page, a list of all application cycles will be displayed. You’ll be able to see the term/year combination, whether or not a given cycle is active, whether or not it is a dual year term, and the number of applications currently associated with each app cycle.
You’ll note that only application cycles for which there are no current applications will display a “Remove” button. It is not permitted to delete an application cycle for which there are applications because those associated applications would become orphaned and that missing data could lead to numerous issues, all of which we’d really just rather avoid. That being said, you’ll need to scrub the associated applications before being able to scrub the application cycle itself.
You’re also provided with a log to see any actions taken on this page.
As with any Maintenance permission, this functionality should be granted only to the users who need it most and are well-versed enough in the software to understand the ramifications of changes made on this page.
