This KB provides a simple overview of the SEVIS Profile in the SEVIS Admin.
The SEVIS Profile is separate from the Terra Dotta Profile. The SEVIS Profile is a "one-stop shop" for Officers and Assistants to view everything in a user’s SEVIS past, present, and future, providing the most critical and frequently-used information in a simple way. Most of the information has also been adapted from SEVIS RTI to streamline the information gathering process.
Overview
A: Overview section of the SEVIS Profile. Here, the student or scholar picture will display along with the following information:
- Name
- Visa Type
- SEVIS Status
- SEVIS ID
- I-20/DS-2019 Form
B: This is the vertical navigation bar for the SEVIS Profile. When you click on a section, the top right side of the profile will reflect data from the selected section. The following sections are included in the navigation bar, and are all linked to KB articles with more information on each section:
- Personal

- Program & Education

C: Pencil: Edit information directly from the SEVIS Profile page. Once clicked, a modal window containing editable fields is presented. Make your edits here. Any change made to a SEVIS reportable field will be picked up in the SEVIS Change Manager where you can dismiss them or create a new pending update. If it is a SIS-mapped field and not changed in the SIS, the next day the SIS refresh will run and change your edit.
D: Post to RTI: Post information directly to RTI-Connect from the SEVIS Profile. See the related KB article for more information on SEVIS Profile: Post to RTI.
E: STEM: Easily identify if an Academic Objective is focused on a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics degree with the new STEM icon. This icon is present on various reports to help identify STEM majors/fields of study, as well as across all records in Terra Dotta belonging to a student with a STEM major. The indicator is using primary and secondary CIP codes to determine when to place the icon. If a student is no longer enrolled in a plan of study that belongs to a STEM major/field of study, the icon will disappear.
Note: Users with multiple Academic Objective Records will have an alert at the top of their profile page. A "Scrub Compare/Review" button is also conveniently located within the alert to allow the Admin an opportunity for a quick resolution.
