This article explains the six types of SEVIS-mapped data in the SEVIS Admin in Terra Dotta ISSS and provides a broad overview of where data is contained.
Every data point contained in a SEVIS record is mapped to a data point in the SEVIS Admin. When advisors update a SEVIS record using the SEVIS MAdmin, the SEVIS Admin pulls user data from specific, mapped locations in Terra Dotta, and inserts the data into the batch sent to SEVIS for processing.
Terra Dotta will add new fields as needed to be mapped to SEVIS data - for example, Admit Term, or Semester Credits. Those updates will be included in this KB.
If you have questions or encounter issues in your site with SEVIS mappings, please open a support case for expert assistance. Incorrectly mapping SEVIS data will negatively impact your SEVIS compliance.
In SEVIS Admin > Settings > View / Edit SEVIS batch settings > SEVIS Mappings, you can view and edit SEVIS-mapped data points in Terra Dotta.
The Terra Dotta data that is mapped to SEVIS is stored in the following places:
- Address Type Mappings: SEVIS-required and SEVIS-mapped addresses stored in the Address Info tab of the Terra Dotta profile can be viewed under Address Type Mappings.
- Core Profile Mappings: Core User Profile Information is key data that displays in Terra Dotta. Core User Profile Information is managed differently in Terra Dotta for integrated users and non-integrated users.
- Program Mappings: Programs are mapped to concepts in the SEVIS Admin.
- Questionnaire Mappings: In Questionnaire Mappings, admins can specify the Questionnaire(s) assigned to any Academic Objective Program (F/M Programs and J Programs).
- Question Item Mappings: In Question Item Mappings, admins can review the mapped question items, organized in questionnaires.
- Status Mappings: Status aliases in Terra Dotta are mapped to status aliases in SEVIS.
- User Parameter Mappings: SEVIS data stored in the Information tab of the Terra Dotta profile, which may or may not be integrated with your Student Information System, can be viewed and edited under User Parameter Mappings.
