Overview
This KB article explains how to use the new Travel Summary feature, located under SEVIS Admin > Reports.
Need to know who’s recently obtained an F, M, or J visa abroad, or who entered last week with your school’s documents? The ISSS Admin can now compile travel information scraped with SEVIS Travel information via RTI Connect after capturing your most recent SEVIS list of Initial or Active Students as well as Initial or Active Exchange Visitors. All the information the ISSS Admin would see in SEVIS is available in Terra Dotta to view and work with.
The report is categorized by the visa type and includes both principals and dependents. From here, the ISSS Admin can perform all the standard report actions, such as add/remove application tags, send an email, and export.
Navigating to the Travel Summary Report
To get to the Travel Summary report, navigate to SEVIS Admin > Reports and scroll down to the middle of the Report dashboard. The third box will be the Travel Summary feature.
Running a Travel Summary Report
The ISSS Admin will have three fields to complete to run this report: Campus, Status, and Program End Date. Campus and Status are required in order to run this report. Note: At this time, the Travel Summary Report runs off the Program Start Date rather than the Program End Date.
Report columns:
- Name
- Visa type
- Fee Paid?
- Transaction Date
- Port of Entry
- Date of Entry
- I-94 Admission Number
- Port of Departure
- Date of Departure
- Passport number
- Passport expiration date
- Passport issuing country
- Visa number
- Visa issue Date
- Visa expiration date
- Visa issuance post
For example, the ISSS Admin can run a Travel Summary report to see all Active Status students on the Engineering campus whose program end date is between May 2020 to May 2021. This will pull information from SEVIS and place it into the report columns.
Filters
The ISSS Admin also has the option to filter the results of the travel summary to fit their needs. In the Options dropdown menu located in the left corner above the results section, the ISSS Admin can select application tags to see students who fit within those tags. Next to the Options dropdown menu is an option to download the report into an Excel document.
Located in the upper right corner of the results section of the travel summary is another dropdown menu for Show/Hide column. Selecting one of the column options will allow the ISSS Admin to hide a column from the report. To have that column show again, click again on the name of the column to restore it to the results.
