This article outlines the steps to submit an F/M Personal Information Update via the SEVIS batch.

No dedicated request exists for a Personal Info Update. 

The Personal Information updated in the Personal Info: Update SEVIS batch action is contained in Core Parameters, Profile, and Academic Objective (F/M) record. Updates to Core Parameters and Profile information are created by selecting that action in the SEVIS Admin. Updates to the Academic Objective will be created by selecting that action in the SEVIS Admin. 

The Personal Info: Update SEVIS Batch Action can be generated to update any of the following fields: 

• Last Name
• First Name
• Suffix
• Birth Date
• Gender
• Country of Birth
• Country of Citizenship
• Email
• Commuting from Canada or Mexico
• Phone Number
• Non-US Phone Number
• Non-US Phone Country Code
• US Physical Address
• Foreign Address

STEP 1: Update and Review Personal Information

Personal Information to be updated in the Personal Info: Update SEVIS batch action is contained in Core Parameters, Profile, and Academic Objective (F/M) record.

Terra Dotta Core Parameters

Terra Dotta Core Parameter fields (listed below) are most often integrated with an institution's Student Information System. To change these fields, the Student Information System must first be updated. The updated information will then appear after the next refresh of SIS data appears in Terra Dotta.  

If a Terra Dotta site is not integrated with the Student Information System, Admins can edit these fields under Maintenance> Edit User:

• Last Name
• First Name
• Middle Name
• Email
• Date of Birth
• Gender

Terra Dotta Profile

Like Terra Dotta Core Parameter fields, user parameters maintained in the Terra Dotta Profile are most often integrated with an institution's Student Information System. To change these fields, the Student Information System must first be updated. The updated information will then appear after the next refresh of SIS data appears in Terra Dotta.  

If a Terra Dotta site is not integrated with the Student Information System, then Admins and/or advisees may edit these fields in their Terra Dotta Profile Information and Address Info tabs: 

Information Tab

• Suffix
• Country of Birth
• Country of Citizenship
• Phone Number
• Non-US Phone Number
• Non-US Phone Country Code

Address Info Tab

• U.S. Physical Address 
• Foreign Address

Academic Objective Record (F/M)

A single question item in an Academic Objective (F/M) record is also used by the SEVIS Admin when adding a Personal Info: Update action to a batch. Below is the name of the questionnaire (in bold) and question item.
