This article outlines the steps to cancel a previously authorized Drop Below Full Courseload request in the SEVIS batch. SEVIS requires that the RCL authorization start date be in the future for this action to be successfully processed. If the start date is in the past, the batch update will fail, and will return with an error.

Step 1: Find Reduced Courseload Record
- Navigate to Record > Search.
- Type in the name of the student whose Drop Below Full Courseload record you would like to cancel in SEVIS.
- The student's Request Authorization for Reduced Courseload (F/M) request should display when you search for their name.
Step 2: Review SEVIS-Required Data
- One questionnaire handles all data related to Drop Below Full Courseload Request (Add, Delete, Edit) actions.
- The SEVIS Admin will use data either from question items 1-3 or 5-7, depending on whether or not the student's Drop Below Full Courseload Request was previously edited.
- NOTE: Do not enter any information to question items related to the Drop Below Full Courseload: Cancel action.
- Admins will simply review the reason and dates that will be used by the SEVIS Admin to complete this action in SEVIS.
- If the student's Drop Below Full Courseload authorization has not been previously edited, the SEVIS Admin will use the reason and dates in Question Items 1-3 when an Admin generates a Drop Below Full Courseload Request: Cancel action for the student in the SEVIS Admin.
- If the student's Drop Below Full Courseload has been previously edited, the SEVIS Admin will use the reason and dates in Question Items 5-7 when an Admin generates a Drop Below Full Courseload Request: Cancel action for the student in the SEVIS Admin.
- Reason for Drop Below Full Courseload - reason should already be selected.
- Start Date - date should be previously entered
- End Date - date should be previously entered
- Remarks - not used in this SEVIS action
- New Reason for Drop Below Full Courseload - if previously edited, reason already be selected
- New Start Date - if previously edited, reason should already be selected
- New End Date - if previously edited, reason should already be selected
Step 3: Create SEVIS Update Record

The SEVIS Admin Action you will select for this SEVIS record update is Authorize Drop Below Full Courseload: Cancel.
