Users may wish to generate one or more SEVIS validation records at a time for J records. This can be done on the Activities panel, in conjunction with an existing saved query in Terra Dotta.
Remember, you must first confirm that a valid U.S. physical address and phone number has been entered for each exchange visitor in Terra Dotta, either manually or via a SIS refresh. Without this information, the validation update will fail in the SEVIS batch.
Generating Validate Record
- Go to SEVIS Admin > Activities
- Click Generate Validate Records.
A new page will appear with all required fields to generate one or more SEVIS validation updates.
Important: SEVIS requires that an updated Form DS2019 be returned with a downloaded validation action. There is no way to decline the return of the updated form.
You must first select users in Initial status to validate from the automatically displayed list. You may also select a Saved Query from the dropdown menu.
The automatically displayed list now includes important information to help you select the records you wish to validate. Easily check for critical information such as U.S. physical address, phone number, and email.
After you click Submit, you will see a confirmation that the validation records have been created.
You will then be able to verify your update records and submit them to SEVIS in a batch. For instructions on how to do this, see the SEVIS Admin: Pending Updates > Verification Knowledgebase article.
The number of records you can submit in a SEVIS batch in the Terra Dotta may be limited to a smaller number than the number of records returned in your query. Multiple SEVIS batches may be created to complete this action for your entire record set.
