For AlertTraveler® administrators on Study Abroad sites that have the AlertTraveler® plugin, the Country Intelligence panel is visible on the classic administrative home. This panel allows an admin to search for any country and many cities via a search/dropdown that shows all possible search options in alphabetical order.
This article will discuss the following topics:
- Access
- Permissions
- Country Intelligence Panel
Access
The country intelligence panel appears in the bottom right corner of the classic administrative homepage:
The classic administrative home is accessed by navigating to the home menu icon in the top left of the page (if working in classic) or by clicking the hamburger menu icon in the top left of the page (if working in the Admin Console). From both menu icon navigation options, select Administrative.
Permissions
Once a user is granted admin access to AlertTraveler®, the country intelligence option will appear in their classic admin home.
Admin Home
Clicking on a city or country will reload the panel and display a map and relevant information for the location selected, including the current overall risk rating for that area as rated by both AlertTraveler® and the U.S. Department of State:
An admin can click “View all info” to open an information page for the location which includes an overview of the area, and other information such as a risk assessment, political conditions, potential security issues, travel logistics, cultural factors for consideration, contact details for local emergency services, crime information, and any health advisories for the location. This is the same country/city intelligence information that travelers can view through the app.
Clicking “Show Alerts” will bring an admin to the “AlertTraveler - View Alerts” page with a pre-populated filter to display all alerts for the selected area in the past seven days.
Note: AlertTraveler-eligible travelers will also be able to access the Country Intelligence information by clicking on the AlertTraveler tab within their applicant home. Travelers will not have access to the Alerts page. The country intelligence panel appears below the AlertTraveler® activation panel:
Note: It is recommended administrators use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox with Terra Dotta & AlertTraveler®
