One use of an anchor link is to provide a method for jumping from a hyperlink to a specified location within a long web page. Most frequently, these are used at the top of a long site content page in the form of an outline. By clicking on each item in the outline, the user's browser is automatically scrolled down to the position where that item's content is displayed.
To create an anchor link, follow these steps:
- Highlight the text you want the page to jump down to.
- Click the flag icon on the WYSIWYG tool bar.
- Enter a name for the anchor link in the pop-up box.
- At the top of the brochure page, highlight the text you would like to be the link to your anchor.
- Click the link (chain) icon on the WYSIWYG icon.
- Change the link type to 'Link to Anchor in Text'.
- Select the anchor you named in step #3
The hyperlink you created will jump down to the matching section of the site content page. You can create this process as many times as you wish on the program brochure page.
