Reporting on students engaged in OPT and their employers is becoming easier with new reporting features located on the Data Analysis panel of the Report page. This article explains the OPT Employers analysis and how it can help international offices partner with recruiters and career professionals to provide powerful data.
Reports > OPT Employers
This analysis table utilizes the actual OPT start and end dates to gather data. Therefore, to ensure the most accurate information, it is important to ensure your scraped OPT data is up to date. This analysis provides campus-specific information if multiple campus codes are present.
Once generated, this table defaults to view employment data based on the date pulled. You may select a time period to search:
- within the last thirty days
- within the last calendar year
- within a custom date range of USCIS-Approved Start and End Dates.
The table will generate a default view providing Employer Names and OPT category on the axes. Drag and drop other table elements into either axis to view other data as needed.
If more than one student is working for the same employer, you can drop the SEVIS ID under the Employer Name identifier to identify individuals. This information can be useful for both recruiters and career professionals on campus.
Note, the list of employers is dependent on the information that has been entered in the OPT Employer Update screens. If there are typos or changes in capitalization or abbreviations, for example, the employers will display as two separate employers in the aggregate data.
