This article explains the steps to complete an F/M SEVIS Record Transfer Out process with RTI Connect in the SEVIS Admin. Because SEVIS does not permit the transfer out of an F-1 student record via SEVIS batch, an advisor must take the following steps in RTI Connect to ensure the alignment of the record in SEVIS RTI and Terra Dotta.
Transfer Out Process via RTI-Connect
Complete the Transfer-Out process via RTI-Connect:

Note: After posting the release date and remark, you will need to open the modal in SEVIS to search on school code or site name. Post into that screen and search/select before returning to the main screen to submit.
After successfully completing the Transfer Out process in RTI Connect, an F-M Transfer Out record will be created for the student and will contain a completed Transfer Out (F-M) (RTI Only) questionnaire.
Update the Student's AO Record in Terra Dotta
On the date that the student's Transfer Out is effective in SEVIS, the ISSS Admin must update the student's AO record in Terra Dotta. Update the AO record with the following steps:
- Click the Status tab.
- Update the status to Deactivated to match the status of the SEVIS record in SEVIS.
- Check the box: "Do not send status update notification email to the applicant."
- Click Update.
You can query transfer out students with a transfer release date on the last day to find out whose record to return to change the status to Deactivated. You may also query transfer-out students using the data contained in Transfer Out Date. See our KB on Queries and Reports for more information.
